The Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to
provide trained personnel to ensure their employees can receive immediate
attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. These regulations
apply to all workplaces. The minimum requirement is to provide a person
who is trained and qualified to provide emergency first aid in the workplace.
You must also provide an ‘Appointed Person’ to take charge of first
aid arrangements. The same person can fill both roles.
